Department of Anatomy
The
Department of Anatomy at Medical College, Baroda, serves as the
foundational pillar of medical education, dedicated to unravelling the
intricate architecture of the human body. We are committed to providing
our undergraduate and postgraduate students with a comprehensive,
clinically oriented understanding of Gross Anatomy, Histology,
Embryology, and Neuro anatomy.
Our
department blends time-honoured traditional teaching methods—such as
meticulous cadaveric dissection—with modern pedagogical tools, including
interactive small-group discussions, digital learning aids, and early
clinical exposure, all in alignment with the Competency-Based Medical
Education (CBME) curriculum. By fostering an environment of academic
excellence and profound respect for the "silent teachers" (cadavers), we
strive to empower our students with the anatomical knowledge and
analytical skills essential for their future careers as compassionate
and competent medical professionals.
Beyond the
classroom, our faculty is actively engaged in research, continuously
contributing to the scientific community while nurturing a culture of
inquiry and critical thinking among the next generation of healers.
